Products of Design Hosts its First Information Session
On Saturday we were thrilled to host the first-ever MFA Products of Design Information Session! Along with twenty faculty members, we welcomed a group of prospective students to watch a lively introduction to the department by Chair Allan Chochinov. The audience then got to hear straight from several MFA Products of Design faculty members, whose presentations brought the courses that they’ll be teaching in the upcoming program to life.
After the presentations wrapped up, we ushered the crowd into the North end of the department’s floor to partake in an equally delightful and delicious food activity concepted by faculty member Emilie Baltz. Guests reached up to grab pitas hanging from clotheslines and, using the pieces of bread as canvases, assembled various food ingredients to create individually designed mandalas.
A special thank you to caterers Julia Greene and Kenzan Tsutakawa-Chinn for creating the food experience and to photographer Glen Taylor Jackson for documenting the delectable creations tthat came of it.
And of course an enormous thank you to all the prospective students who ventured to Chelsea to hear about and discuss our vision for the MFA Products of Design program.
If you weren’t able to make it and are interested in learning more about the department, we encourage you to get in touch with us at productsofdesign@sva.edu.
