RE-ACTORS Wins Best of Schools Wanted Design/ICFF Award!

RE-ACTORS, this year’s NYCxDESIGN exhibit by the student of Products of Design won the “Best of Schools Award” from ICFF +Wanted Design! The award was presented by the extraordinary CEO of Alessi, Emanuele Gaeti, who spoke eloquently about the students’ work and about what they had accomplished.

As the award was a surprise to the group, not all students were in attendance at the ceremony. Here is the full list of students who created the RE-ACTORS exhibition!

Here are Emanuele Gaeti’s presentation remarks:

And now, we are talking about the Best of School project awards. And I have to say that this project is impressive—completely impressive. We are talking about something that is not only an expression of design, but is an expression of emotions. And it is a big mission of the design—trying to combine not only something that not only has an expression of materials, but also has an emotion, a heart, inside.

So, the other thing that I want to say is that in order to choose which one is the “best,” it was not only an exercise to see, to review, to analyze the matetrials, and to analyze the project and the papers, but the other thing is to analyze the people. And I have to say that these people, in a way, are all very special. Very special because when they talk about the project and what they did, it was like talking about the father, the mother. The Love. In fact, in my option, this project should be called ‘Love.’”

Congratulations to the Class of 2022, congratulations to faculty member Sinclair Smith, and thank you everyone for coming by the exhibition! To see many (many!) photos and descriptions of the project, just head over to https://productsofdesign.sva.edu/projects/re-actors.
