Senior Design Strategist,
Johnson & Johnson

Evie Cheung is a service designer and innovation strategist who has been called a "voice of truth" and "the greater synthesizer" in rooms with senior leaders and clients. She has worked across many industries and scales with several Fortune 500 clients—particularly helping large-scale organizations rethink their innovation approach through a user-centered lens. Currently, Evie leads several projects at Johnson & Johnson focused on global public health and designing holistic ecosystems of care for mental health. Previously, she helped lead teams at Doblin, a part of Deloitte's Applied Design & Innovation arm. There, Evie also co-led a team in reimagining commonly used design & research methodologies and frameworks through an anti-racist lens.

Evie is also an alum of MFA Products of Design; her 2019 MFA thesis "Alexa, Help Me Be a Better Human: Redesigning Conversational AI for Emotional Connection" unpacks the hidden biases of AI-powered products and services and has been featured in Quartz, Adobe XD Ideas, and the Jefferies podcast Invisible Forces. To widen her design practice beyond the typical scope, she is engaged in activities such as working as an Election Day Worker & Chinese Interpreter in NYC Elections and being a travel photographer for El Camino Travel
