Alexia is a Venezuelan-Belgian-American designer currently based in New York City. She is the Creative Lead at Dalberg Design NY, a design practice within an international development consulting firm, where she leverages Human-Centered Design and strategic design thinking to tackle complex challenges across sectors such as global health, financial inclusion, agriculture and food security, and gender empowerment.

Before joining Dalberg Design in 2022, Alexia worked as a digital product designer and researcher at argodesign’s New York office, contributing to projects for clients like Singular Genomics, Fox Factory, New York Life, and IBM.

Alexia holds an MFA from SVA’s Products of Design program, where her thesis, “Dare + Defy: A Woman’s Place in the Great Outdoors,” focused on creating design solutions that empower and celebrate women in outdoor spaces. Prior to her graduate studies, she spent 10 years as a jeweler and arts educator, actively exhibiting her work and managing the Jewelry Studios at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.

Born in Venezuela and having spent part of her childhood in Belgium, Alexia has called the East Coast her home for over 20 years. She is passionate about projects in the non-profit and social innovation sectors, driven by a belief that the best design solutions emerge from a robust human-centered design process.
