HK DUNSTON
Climate Researcher
HK is a soon-to-be Urban Planning graduate from Columbia's GSAPP Masters Program, where she studies climate mitigation and adaptation in cities. She has researched and written about a wide range of climate-related topics but is most interested in the ways in which climate change demands a shift in our perception of the future, and how those shifts influence the way we plan, communicate and relate to other beings in our interconnected world. She began her focus on climate change after a 25 year technology and design career, where she worked on projects that helped employees communicate and collaborate more effectively with customers and with each other. After a long UX Design and management consulting career working for a variety of large companies, many of which were making their first forays onto the internet, she joined Thomson Reuters to lead the Digital Communications team. She has also served as an independent product management consultant to non-profits and community organizations, guiding their internal and external technology platforms.
