Lawrence Abrahamson

Lead Designer, IDEO

 

 

Lawrence Abrahamson is a Senior Design Lead at IDEO who brings almost 20 years of professional experience working on interdisciplinary teams in international contexts. From home bases in Singapore, Washington, DC, Portland, OR, Chicago, and New York, Lawrence has collaborated on a variety of retail, brand, healthcare, and workplace projects.

An environments and service designer, Lawrence explores the boundaries of space, art and experience. He loves to be surprised and delighted by the sheer creativity of the human race and is a staunch advocate for the end-user. His passion for observing different cultures provides him the ability to see the world with new eyes. As a Visiting Researcher at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore he investigated an Asian perception of space and how these cultural elements can inspire experience and service design everywhere. He has taught transcultural design at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago, IL and design research in the architecture department of CEDIM in Monterrey, Mexico.
