Blue Ridge labs



KT manages community participation in the design research process at Blue Ridge Labs, an initiative of Robin Hood, the largest poverty-fighting organization in NYC. In this role, KT oversees the Design Insight Group, a network of low-income New Yorkers whose expertise guides all Labs programming.

Prior to joining Robin Hood, KT led communications and digital literacy programs for grassroots women’s organizations across 45 countries partnering with the UN. KT has also worked at a Brooklyn food tech startup, as a community organizer alongside farm workers in their hometown of Orlando, FL and as a documentary filmmaker in Delhi, India.

Outside of the paid work life, KT coordinates GenSex NYC, a gender and sexuality workshop series, and supports people preparing for parole hearings in NY state prisons through the Parole Preparation Project. KT graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with an independent concentration in International Development & Multimedia Journalism.
