Antya Waegemann

Entrepreneur and Product Designer

Antya Waegemann is an entrepreneur, product designer, and speaker focused in safety design (improving safety for vulnerable populations through design). She is currently working on the Trust & Safety Team at Tinder to create safer experiences for users in dating apps including helping them report bad users or interactions, and introducing ways to break down harmful behaviors. She is the founder of Margo Health, a company working to improve reporting and evidence collection for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, that began as her 2019 Products of Design Thesis, "When No One Believes You." Margo Health, formerly RN Advocate, has won various awards for it's redesign of the sexual assault evidence kit (rape kit) including Fast Company's 2020 World Changing Ideas Award, the ICFF 2019 NYCxDesign Student Award, and was a finalist in the 2021 Index Award. Waegemann has had various speaking engagements about her research and work around Margo Health including at the 2019 Antenna Conference and the 2020 Design Indaba Conference, has published an article with the American Bar Association, and received press on her work from AIGA Eye on Design and CNN.

Outside of her passion for safety, her design and research career spans across many different industries including fitness, work optimization, healthcare and sustainable transportation with companies such as InVision, Equinox Plus, frog design, Johnson & Johnson and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
