Explorations in AR & Synthetic Ecologies: Yasaman Sheri’s Design Journey - Full Video

How do we sense in the age of sensors? In what ways are biological and digital networks intertwined?

In her guest talk at Products of Design, Yasaman Sheri explored a series of wide-ranging questions she’s been investigating as the founder of the Synthetic Ecologies Lab at Serpentine Galleries R&D. Having led pioneering projects in Spatial Computing and AR at companies including Google X and Oculus, she’s now focused on leveraging emerging technologies to investigate synthetic biology, aesthetics of simulation, objects, and perception systems.

Yasaman Sheri has worked as a Creative Director, Interface Designer, and Researcher with NASA Ames Research Center, Art Center Collage, Toyota, Google (X), Ginkgo Bioworks, IKEA’s research & design studio SPACE10, and many more. She’s a current faculty at Copenhagen Institute for Interaction Design (CIID), where she makes sure to bring her students beyond the classroom to sense the world around them. Check out her full talk in the video above, as well as a few snapshots below.
