Designing Support: Foreseeing Interdependencies with Cameron Tonkinwise - Full Video

With the accelerated impact of climate and technology on how we live and interact, designing for transitions and interdependencies is more essential than ever on both an individual and global level.

We were lucky enough to be joined for a guest lecture by Cameron Tonkinwise, an international expert in design studies and transition design. Tonkinwise is currently a professor at University of Technology Sydney, and has previously taught at UNSW Australia, Carnegie Mellon, and Parsons, where he also served as the Associate Dean for Sustainability.

Tonkinwise discussed the challenges of designing transitions related to climate adaptation, aging, and the sharing economy. A key element of getting people to transition to something new? Trials—ideally free ones—says Tonkinwise, are your best tool.
