Daniel Basiletti

Retail Director, Brand Strategist

Daniel started his career in the design industry in 1999 when he was hired at Moss, a design store and gallery in Soho, NYC. He was Product Manager at the store from 2002-2012, working alongside owner and design maven Murray Moss. It was a forward-looking and sometimes experimental forum for design in the early 2000s and much of the work fostered there found its way into museum collections worldwide.

After Moss closed in 2012, Daniel took on the role of Director of Retail and Product Development at the Museum of Sex for two years, shepherding in a new perspective on sexuality and design. From 2014-2023 he was General Manager of Sales and Marketing for AMEICO, an importer and distributor of contemporary design products. In addition to managing sales for the company, he curated several exhibitions at their gallery located inside the 1916 Telephone Exchange Building in New Milford, CT.

Lately he has been working as a freelance retail director and brand builder. Clients include BassamFellows, AMEICO, VICI Brands, Ilan Design, Common Modern, and Magazzino Italian Art

In addition to his retail work, Daniel is a self-taught musician (he studied piano performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto), an actor, set builder, lighting designer, and an amateur radio enthusiast. He sits on the board of the Putnam Symphony Orchestra, ArtSmart World, the Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition, and Putnam Pride.
