Laura Scofield
Design Director, The Atlantic
Laura Scofield is a Brazilian graphic designer, educator, and vexillologist based in New York. As Design Director at The Atlantic, she leads projects across branding, editorial, digital, and events. Her work has been recognized by the Type Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers, D&AD, Cannes Lions, Red Dot, Print, iF, and Brazil Design Awards.
She serves as a guest critic in the Communication Design program at Parsons and was previously a board member of AIGA NY. She has also contributed as a juror for the Type Directors Club, Latin American Design Award, Brazil Design Awards, and the Brazilian Biennial of Graphic Design (ADG-Brasil).
Beyond graphic design, Laura researches and speaks on vexillology — the scientific study of the history, symbolism, and use of flags.
