“ChatPoD” and Synthetic Podcasts: Recent Department Experiments with AI

Here at Products of Design, we are experimenting with AI in our pedagogy (AI ethics, mechanics, tools, creative pursuits, ventures, etc.). And, we’re also experimenting with it as a department. Periodically we’d like to share some of those experiments with you; please consider these the first in our series!

We have a handful of new products-of-AI for you to check out below. They are intriguing…and might even be useful! :)

Synthetic Podcasts

We created a series of synthetic “podcasts” discussing the program—and with surprising accuracy (we put on our fact-checker hats over here). They are quick, and honestly, we were surprised with the effectiveness of the results. Have a listen!

Listen to a conversation about what our alumni are up to and where they work.

A conversation about the mission and didactics of the department.

A conversation about the richness of our department’s faculty.

Check out this podcast about Alexia Cohen’s Masters Thesis!

Custom GPT: “ChatPoD”

We did some training of a custom GPT—we’re calling it “ChatPoD”, and you can ask it questions about the department, its faculty, its alumni, its pedagogy, and a whole lot more. WARNING: AIs do hallucinate! We can not guarantee the veracity of its outputs—ChatPoD can make things up and get things wrong. Please keep that in mind while you are playing around and feel free to email us if you ever need clarification.
